Our Travels

On the morning of the second day we went out for a short walk near the hotel.

此行第二天的早上，我们到酒店附近周围转了转。

First we got a few things down from the car.

我们先到停车场拿点东西。

Later we went up to the hotel lobby.

然后我们回到酒店大厅里。

And left the hotel through the main entrance for a short walk.

接着走出酒店大门，到周围走走。

We continued our walk in the small town St. Ulrich.

我们继续步行于圣乌尔立赫小镇。

St. Ulrich is famous for wood carving.

圣乌尔立赫小镇以木雕而著名。

They have many shops which sell wooden souvenirs.

该镇有许多销售木制纪念品的商店。

Most buildings in St. Ulrich are built in Austrian (Tyrolean) style.

该镇的许多建筑都是奥地利（蒂罗儿）风格。

This is one of the few which are Italian (this one: Venetian) style.

At the entrance there's a statue of Lino, the mascot of the hotel and favourite of all children.

酒店门口有利洛老鼠的雕像，它是该酒店的吉祥物，也是小朋友最喜爱的伙伴。

Today we arrived at the most expensive hotel we have been to so far.

今天我们来到目前为止去过的最昂贵的酒店。

It's not that this hotel would be the most luxury one, the reason that we have chosen this one is that it is specialized on families with small kids.

该酒店并不是因为豪华才昂贵，而是因为这家酒店是专门为携带孩子一同前来享受的家庭而服务的（也就是只有带孩子的家庭才能去，其他的都不行）。

So besides having nice rooms, good food, being located at a nice location, it offers taking care of kids and even small babies, including large playing and entertainment areas, whilst the parents can relax at various facilities of the hotel or can visit some of the beautiful natural places of the South-Tyrol/Dolomites area nearby.

因此，除了舒适的客房、美味佳肴以及极好的地理位置外，该酒店还负责专门照看小朋友和婴幼儿，及其游玩的大面积娱乐场所，与此同时，爸爸妈妈们可以享受酒店里提供的各种设施，或者到大自然中欣赏南蒂罗儿（都洛米特斯）的美景。

It's too big to capture on photo. It has got separate bathtub, shower and everything else you need. Very spacy.

As the weather was so nice we left the hotel for a short walk right on the day of our arrival.

由于天气格外的好，我们刚到达酒店，便迫不及待地到户外走动。

Our route began with walking through a few streets of St. Ulrich, a small tourist town.

我们先参观圣乌而利赫小镇的一些主要街道。

Then the town ended and we entered a forest.

然后离开小镇，进入一片森林中。

Our route should lead to a small church, from where we can see the famous mountain "Langkofel" very nicely.

我们要去参观一个小教堂，在那里可以看到美丽的朗科菲山。

Here you can already see parts of this mountain in the background.

在这里已经可以看到这座山的一部份景色。

So pretty much every picture is showing Langkofel now.

现在我们拍了很多朗科菲山的美景。

We liked this mountain's shape a lot.

And the farther we went, the more we could see of it.

Finally we reached the place with the church.

最后我们到达了教堂。

It's name is St. Jakob.

名字叫圣亚克。

It was really nice to rest there, having a very nice view.

这里的确是个休息的好地方，有那么多美景供欣赏。

Finally we had to leave, as the sun would go down soon.

最后我们不得不离开，因为太阳就快下山了。

But whilst going back we could still get some more views of Langkofel.

不过回程的路上，我们还是见到更多郎科菲山的美景。

On the way back we passed by this nice hotel.

在回程的路上我们经过一家美丽的酒店。

And we finally had some Italian type food for dinner.

最后我们去吃意大利晚餐。

On Sunday we finally had to go back to our home and there was not much time left for much sight seeing.

But we still wanted to visit a special place along our route back:
The castle Churburg.

This castle is a very interesting place, telling lots of stories about the life at medieval age.

Unfortunately it was not allowed to take pictures inside of the castle, so we have only a few shots from there.

Some lucky kids had the chance to experience how those knights must have felt in their heavy armour.

Later we had lunch at a restaurant just a few kilometres from the Italian-Austrian border.

These lovely iron clothes are for sale - whoever wants to wear them.

Nice church, but unfortunately we did not see it from the inside.

When leaving the hotel on this day we also took a few pictures at the entrance.

All in all it was a very new, nice and clean place, and the people there were also very friendly. All that at a very affordable price.

After spending the morning in the center of Meran, in the afternoon we visited a very special place:
The botanical gardens at castle Trautmannsdorff.

When we visited there, autumn was at its prime time.
So those many different colours, nice parks and beautifuls trees and flowers gave us a memorable experience.

and strange creatures.

We also reached a viewpoint...

which gave us some nice views of the castle and its surroundings.

Famous princess "Sissi" of Austria (on the left), who also loved to spend her holidays at this place and take walks in the surrounding forests.

European art can be a bit erotic.

In early morning we took a walk in the centre of Meran, where many beautiful parks and buildings can be found.

The most beautiful church of Meran is located right at the beginning of the main shopping road...

...where they sell many different products, including bacon...

...and wine.

In the afternoon where were driving down further south, for some different activity: Going up a secured climbing route.

The route is the most difficult we climbed so far,

but I still could climb it nicely...

...and reach the top safely!

On this short trip we were visiting the northern-most province of Italy, which is divided in two parts: The "Südtirol" or "Alto Adige", which formerly belonged to Austria and thus most people still are speaking German language there, and the "Trento" where all people are speaking Italian language only.

So this province is an interesting mixture of German and Italian culture, and thus one can find different types of food, buildings and people in this part of Italy.

On our 2nd day we went to the biggest city of Südtirol, which is called "Bozen".

Here you can see the cathedral, which is located near the main square of Bozen.

It was built by the Italians after World War I, when they conquered this region and annexed it to Italy.

Even near the city centre beautiful landscapes can be found easily.

At the entrance of the archeological musuem, where they keep the famous "Iceman", which lived here 5000 years ago.

Unfortunately it was not allowed to take pictures inside the museum.

In the front you can see some very typical food of this area: Marones.
They are most delicious when they are been eaten in autumn, when they are fresh and ripe.

In the afternoon we took a drive to the nearby hills...

...to visit the old castle Hocheppan...

...and have some tasty chicken there.

When going down to Italy, we took a short break right at the first village after the border, to take a walk along the central road.

Sterzing is famous for its original old architecture.

In the evening, after we had arrived at our hotel, we went out to have dinner, and decided for probably the best part of Italian food: Pizza!
